Social Good Solutions

// problem

The firm wanted a website its own team could keep current. Not a redesign for its own sake, and not something impressive they would then be locked out of: a site where changing a service, adding a team member, or posting an open role did not mean going back to a developer and waiting. That sounds modest until you look at what it rules out. It rules out a build where the design only holds together if a professional touches it, and it rules out treating the CMS as an afterthought bolted on at the end. Ease of updating was the actual requirement, so it had to shape the build rather than be retrofitted to it.

// solution

Delivered as the development half of a partnership: a creative agency produced the design in Figma and handed off wireframes, and I built the site against them. The line item was deliberately rewritten from design to development once that split was agreed, so nobody paid twice for the same work. The build carries the structure institutional buyers actually move through: mission and history, then services framed for philanthropic, nonprofit, education, and public-sector partners, then the team presented as people whose lived experience matches the communities the work serves. Careers sits alongside services rather than buried at the bottom, because the firm recruits from the same audience it sells to, and enquiry forms route both client and candidate interest from any page. A member area and a chat portal were scoped out rather than built, kept as add-ons the organization could commission later if the need turned out to be real. Not everything proposed should ship in version one.
